fa چالش‌ها و استراتژی‌های فراظرفیت بیمارستانی در حوادث و بلایا Hospital Surge Capacity: Challenges and Strategies in Emergencies and Disasters مدیریت خدمات بهداشتی درمانی Health services management نامه به سردبیر Letter to Editor <div style="text-align: justify;">سردبیر محترم در هر بیمارستان یا مرکز پزشکی، توانمندی‌ها و ظرفیت‌های خاصی وجود دارد که در مواقع بحرانی و استثنایی، ضرورت تأمین خدمات به افراد بیشتری که دچار آسیب شده‌اند، به وضوح احساس می‌شود. موضوع ارتقاء ظرفیت‌های بحرانی در بیمارستان‌های کشور، یکی از چالش‌های اساسی و حیاتی در زمینه بهداشت و درمان محسوب می‌شود که نیازمند توجه و اقدامات ویژه‌ای است. بهبود و گسترش این ظرفیت‌ها نه تنها می‌تواند به کاهش آسیب‌های ناشی از بحران‌ها کمک کند، بلکه نقش مهمی در حفظ سلامت و ایمنی جامعه ایفا می‌کند. در این راستا، ضروری است که به بررسی و تحلیل این موضوع پرداخته و راهکارهای مؤثری برای بهبود وضعیت موجود ارائه شود. افزایش ظرفیت بیمارستان می‌تواند به‌عنوان توانایی مقابله با ورود ناگهانی بیماران فراتر از حد معمول ناشی از یک فاجعه یا وضعیت اضطراری تعریف شود. در واقع هر چه میزان مراجعه به بیمارستان‌ها افزایش یابد، نیاز به امکانات و منابع بیشتری نیز احساس می‌شود (1). به ویژه در شرایط شیوع بیماری‌های واگیر، این نیاز به وضوح بیشتر نمایان می‌شود. تجربه‌های پیشین به ویژه پاندمی کووید-19 (COVID-19)، نشان داده است که سیستم‌های بهداشتی که از پیش برای افزایش ظرفیت آماده بودند، توان بیشتری در مدیریت بحران‌ها و کاهش تعداد مرگ و میر داشته‌اند (2).</div> Dear Editor Hospital surge capacity refers to a hospital’s ability to manage a sudden influx of patients that exceeds its routine capacity during disasters or emergencies. As patient volume rises, the need for additional space, staff, equipment, and other resources becomes increasingly evident, particularly during outbreaks of communicable diseases. Previous experiences, especially the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrated that health systems that had prepared in advance to expand surge capacity were better able to manage crises and reduce mortality. Therefore, it is essential to study and analyze this issue to provide effective solutions for improving the current situation. Increasing hospital capacity can be defined as the ability to manage a sudden influx of patients beyond normal levels due to disasters or emergencies. As hospital visits increase, the demand for additional facilities and resources becomes more pronounced, particularly during outbreaks of infectious diseases.
