Abstract

Introduction: Spirituality has a fundamental role in creation a healthy family, this study aimed to identifying effective spiritual factors in healthy of military families.

Materials and Methods: The present research is a qualitative research, in which phenomenological method was used. Statistical population of the study included all military families of Tehran. For this purpose, 18 participants were selected by purposive sampling method and were studied via deep interviews during a 12 month period. Data were collected, registered and encoded in main categories.

Results: Analyzing the interview by codified data were resulted in identifying 246 primary codes, 10 sub category, and 2 main category including religion beliefs and religion manners.

Discussion and Conclusion: Results shown that spiritual factors effects on healthy family including symmetry to worldview, reliance, recourse, benevolence, patience, forgiveness, and perform to necessitous. These factors have fundamental role in healthy of military families, Therefore in dealing with of military families it is necessary to pay more attention to spiritual factors.

Abstract

Introduction: In the recent decades interest in the consequences of spirituality among the staff of military organizations has increased; this involves areas affected by high levels of spirituality, increase physical and spiritual discipline employees. This study examined the role of spirituality on physical and spiritual discipline of staff of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran has accepted.

Objective: This study aimed to examine the role of spirituality in the spiritual discipline of staff of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Materials and Methods: This study was a survey and the sample size consisted of 390 employees of the armed forces that were selected by stratified random sampling method. The research was carried out during year 2015 and was used to measure spirituality of employees, using the Piedmont scale. In order to assess the reliability of the questionnaire Cronbach›s alpha coefficient and test retest methods were used, and to test the hypotheses, Kendall and Spearman correlation coefficient and multivariate regression were used.

Results: The results indicated a significant relationship between variables of spirituality and physical and spiritual discipline of the armed forces personnel and confirmed both hypotheses (influence of spirituality on physical discipline and spirituality).

Discussion and Conclusion: The test results between spirituality and physical discipline (t=4/395 & P< 0/05) and spirituality and spiritual discipline (t=5/465 & P<0/01) of armed forces personnel and research hypothesis was confirmed by both parties.

Abstract


Introduction: Today, the need to pay attention to spirituality in chronic diseases has received more attention than before. The mission of psychiatrists is to apply sufficient knowledge and skills in caring for psychiatric patients and to maintain and promote family and community health.
Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of spiritual therapy on the lifestyle of hemodialysis patients.
Materials and Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, 96 patients undergoing hemodialysis were selected by convenience sampling from Imam Reza Hospital in Amol in 2020 and divided into experimental and control groups by random allocation. 12 sessions of spiritual therapy training were held individually and concerning patient privacy for 6 weeks for patients in the experimental group. At the beginning of the study and one month after the sessions, the Walker lifestyle questionnaire was completed by patients in both groups. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 16 and descriptive statistics and independent t-test and paired t-test. The significance level was considered less than 0.05.
Results: There was a statistically significant difference between the mean lifestyle scores of the dialysis patients in the experimental group before and after the intervention (P<0.001), while this difference was not significant in the control group. The mean lifestyle of patients in the experimental and control groups before the intervention (P= 0.6) was not significant, while the difference in the mean lifestyle scores of patients in the two groups after the intervention (P= 0.001) was significant.
Discussion and Conclusion: Teaching spiritual issues (spiritual therapy) improved the lifestyle of patients undergoing hemodialysis. It is recommended to pay attention to spiritual and religious issues along with medical treatment of patients undergoing hemodialysis to improve their lifestyle.
