Visual pain scale and motivational spirometry results were used to collect data from the demographic information questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21. The significance level was considered less than 0.05. Results: In this study, the means of pain intensity and pulmonary function before the intervention were not significantly different in the three groups (P>0.05). But on the third and fourth days, it changed in the massage (P<0.001) and heat (P<0.001) groups. Massage therapy was more effective in reducing pain intensity.
