Introduction: One of the indicators of mental health is satisfaction of life. The meaning of life is satisfaction, attitudes, public assessment of the totality of life or some aspects of life such as family and educational experience.

Objective: The Aim of this study was to investigate the relationship of personality traits and spiritual intelligence with life satisfaction among the personnel of an industrial company in Ilam province, Iran.

Materials and Methods: In this study which was implemented in 2014, 115 personnel of a company were selected using convenience sampling and completed three questionnaires of personality traits, spiritual intelligence and life satisfaction. The research design was correlational, which is a descriptive design, and data were analyzed with Pearson’s correlation coefficient and multiple regression analyzes.

Results: The results showed that people with lower neuroticism had higher life satisfaction. In addition, the ones with higher extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness and spiritual intelligence had greater life satisfaction. The highest correlation was related to extraversion (r = 0.64), which was also the most important predictor variable in this study. There was no significant relationship between openness to experience and life satisfaction (P > 0.05). Coefficients of linear regression analysis repeatedly to combine personality and spiritual intelligence with life satisfaction variables were significant in less than 0.001.

Discussion and Conclusion: Modification and adjustment of personality traits as well as increase of spiritual intelligence can lead to increased life satisfaction.

Keywords: Personality Traits, Spiritual Intelligence, Life Satisfaction.
