Introduction: Emergency medical technicians deal with stressful environments such as high-profile areas, critically ill patients, etc., which are very difficult to work with, causing negative environmental stress with negative stress.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the effect of rose inflorescence on the level of anxiety of Qom emergency medical personnel in 2018.
Material and Methods: This study was performed as a clinical trial on 60 (30 interventions and 30 control) emergency medical personnel of Qom city by block randomization method in 2018; information was collected using the demographic questionnaire and anxiety questionnaire. Spielberger was used before and after the intervention of rosehip extract to check the anxiety level of the staff. After collecting the data, it was entered into SPSS22 software, then independent t-test, paired t-test, Chi- Square and Fisher were used to analyzing the data (P=0.05).
Discussion and Conclusion: The present study was performed on 60 emergency medical personnel with a minimum age of 23 years and a maximum age of 43 years. In the study of demographic variables before the intervention, there was no significant difference in terms of age (P = 0.94), years of service (P=0.76), marriage (P=0.11), and education (P= 0.20). On the other hand, in examining the score of apparent (P=0.001), hidden (P= 0.001), and general anxiety (P= 0.001) in the test group, the level of anxiety had increased and it was statistically significant. While in the control group, the apparent (P=0.36), hidden (P=0.90), and general anxiety score (P=0.35) increased slightly and was not statistically significant.
Results: Due to the effect of rose scent on reducing anxiety, its use is recommended to reduce the anxiety of pre-hospital emergency personnel.
