Abstract:   (948 Views)
Introduction: Due to the increasing frequency of hospital hazards and proper preparation of nurses before, during and after such incidents, it is essential.
Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the effect of introductory tour training and workshop on nurses' knowledge and attitudes toward hospital risks in AJA selected hospital.
Materials and Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, which was conducted in 2016 at the selected AJA Hospital in Tehran, 52 nurses were enrolled by simple random sampling method and randomly assigned to two groups of tour introductory and training workshop. The researcher-made questionnaires of knowledge and attitude were completed by two groups before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using independent statistical tests, Fisher and Kolmogrofasmirnov tests using SPSS-18 (P<0.05).
Results: There was no significant difference in the mean scores between the two groups before the intervention (P=0.26), but the mean scores after the intervention were significantly higher in the network introductory group than the workshop group (P<0.001). Also, a significant difference was observed between the mean scores before and after the intervention in both groups (P<0.001). The study of attitude score in the two groups of introductory tour and workshop showed that there is no significant difference between the mean score of attitude of the two groups before the intervention (P=0.41) but the mean score of attitude after the intervention in the introductory tour group is significantly higher than the workshop group (P <0. 001). Also, a significant difference was observed between the mean scores before and after the intervention in both groups (P<0.001).
Conclusion: Hospital hazard training through network recognition and training workshop has been effective on the knowledge and attitude of nurses in AJA hospitals, but net education training has caused a significant increase in nurses' knowledge and attitude towards hospital hazards.
