Introduction: Despite being largely preventable, cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of mortality, particularly among the active workforce. Among employees, this disease reduces productivity and increases healthcare costs for the respective organization. Objective: This study aimed to assess the risk of cardiovascular diseases among the employees of the Ministry of Education. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in May 2023 on 591 headquarters staff of the Ministry of Education in Tehran, selected via convenience sampling. Anthropometric indices (height and weight) and clinical variables, including blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, and lipid profile, were measured using calibrated instruments and standard methods. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 22 and appropriate statistical tests, including the independent t-test and logistic regression, with a significance level set at 0.05. Results: The results indicated significant differences in all variables between male and female employees. A Body Mass Index greater than 30 was more prevalent among women than men. Fasting blood glucose levels exceeded 126 mg/dL in 10.7% of men and 2.7% of women. The prevalence of blood pressure exceeding 140 mmHg was higher in men (19.6%) compared to women (13.8%). LDL levels in the range of 160–189 mg/dL were observed in 30.3% of women and 9% of men. Logistic regression analysis indicated that the probability of developing cardiovascular diseases increases with age more significantly in female employees compared to their male counterparts. Conclusion: The findings revealed that the general health status of the Ministry of Education employees requires intervention to improve their work performance and efficiency. Furthermore, these results assist health policymakers in prioritizing targeted strategies for the development of individual and organizational healthcare promotion programs. It is recommended that time slots for physical activity during working hours, as well as healthy lifestyle education, be incorporated into in-service staff training programs.
