Introduction: Various methods have been used to help patients, but the main challenge is choosing an effective and useful method. Objective: Aim of this study was Comparison of the effect of earplugs, blindfolds and Quiet Time Protocol on anxiety in patients admitted to Intensive Cardiac Care Unit Materials and Methods:A four-group quasi-experimental study conducted on cardiac patients hospitalized in the cardiac intensive care units of selected Aja hospitals in 1403. 84 patients were assigned to four groups of 21 people, including the quiet time protocol, blindfold, ear protection and control groups. The intervention was implemented from midnight on the second night of hospitalization to 6 am the next day for 3 nights using the demographic characteristics form and DASS-21 anxiety questionnaire. (No intervention was performed in the control group). Data were analyzed with SPSS version 21 statistical software. (P<0.05). Results: Before the intervention, there was no statistically significant difference between the mean anxiety scores (P>0.05). Before the intervention, the average anxiety level was(11/76±1/82) in the blindfold group, (10/72±2/21) in the earplug group, (10/15±2/72) in the quiet time protocol group and (11/05±2/45) in the control group. After the intervention, the average anxiety level was (5/89±1/24) in the blindfold group, (5/66±1/57) in the earplug group, (7/65±2/13) in the quiet time protocol group and (10/70±1/92) in the control group. There was a significant difference between the eye protection group and the quiet time protocol group (P=0.005) and between the ear protection group and the quiet time protocol group (P=0.014). Conclusion: Given the effectiveness of all three methods in reducing anxiety in hospitalized patients in this study, it is recommended to use these methods to help patients hospitalized in the intensive cares while trying to introduce the quiet time protocol.
