Introduction: One of the essential skills in the nursing profession, particularly in critical care and emergency departments, is electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation. In this regard, employing various effective educational methods has always been a major challenge and necessity in nursing. Objective: This study aimed to compare the effects of in-person (face-to-face) training combined with multimedia methods versus in-person (face-to-face) training combined with flashcards on knowledge, attitudes, and skills in ECG interpretation among nurses. Materials and Methods: This quasi-experimental study employed a two-group pre-test/post-test design. Based on inclusion criteria, 64 nurses were selected through convenience sampling and randomly assigned to two groups. Data were collected using a demographic information form and a researcher-developed questionnaire assessing knowledge, attitudes, and skills in ECG interpretation. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 21 software. Results: The two groups were homogeneous with no statistically significant differences in demographic characteristics. Prior to the intervention, there were no significant differences between the mean scores of knowledge, attitudes, and skills in the two groups (P = 0.37, P = 0.09, and P = 0.57, respectively). However, post-intervention scores were significantly improved in both groups. Notably, scores for all components were significantly higher in the flashcard training group compared to the multimedia training group (Ef=1.54, Ef=2.84, and Ef = 1.47). Conclusion: Both educational methods were effective in enhancing nurses' knowledge, attitudes, and performance regarding ECG interpretation. Therefore, either method can be utilized depending on available resources and conditions. However, given the greater effectiveness of flashcards, it is recommended to prioritize their use while conducting further studies in this area.
